I was just thinking about this today…How often do we read God’s promises without actually responding to them.
We believe them in theory, but how often don't we act upon them like they’re true. As I was reading the words of 2 Peter 1 it caught my attention.
“By his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know him…” (2 Peter 1:3, NLT)
That means when we know Jesus—we already have what we need. But here’s what stood out: It’s through His promises that we participate in the divine nature. That we step into the life He’s called us to.
“He has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature…” (2 Peter 1:4, NIV)
So here’s the part I've been thinking about: God’s promises aren’t just there to make us feel better. They’re there to be responded to. And when we do?
Heaven moves. Angels go to work. Miracles start breaking out—in us and through us.
Even a tiny act of faith—choosing peace over panic, choosing love over bitterness, his truth over fear—it activates something supernatural.
And I really believe this: The more we respond, the more we become who He created us to be.
So maybe today’s about rediscovering what He’s already said. What if that verse you’ve read a hundred times… is actually the invitation to your next breakthrough? What if you didn’t need to do more—just respond with what you already know?
He’s not waiting for you to get it perfect. He’s waiting for your yes. Because that’s often right where heaven starts to move.
Action Steps:
Think of one promise God’s spoken to your or has caught your attention lately.
Ask: “How can I respond to that today?” Even something small.
Write it down, speak it out, or take one bold step that lines up with it.
Pay attention—watch how heaven shows up in your everyday.
Think and Say: “When I respond to His promises, I step into the supernatural. Heaven moves, and I move with it.”
Bible Verse:“He has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature…”—2 Peter 1:4 (NIV)
Prayer: Jesus, thank You for every promise You’ve spoken over my life. Help me not to just believe them in theory, but to respond in real ways—every day. I want to be bolder becasue I know when I say yes to You, heaven moves and miracles happen. I trust You with today and with what’s ahead. In Jesus' name Amen.
