Do you know what you want? It’s an important question and one which when answered creates clarity, focus and agreement between what we desire and how we live.
God’s knows you and what’s going to bring the greatest joy and fulfilment in your life. This means a great place to gain clarity about what you want is in in spending time with Him and allowing yourself to dream and imagine. I’ve rediscovered that what I love, am gifted at, dream of and find fulfillment in are predominantly what He desires for me.
Knowing what you want also helps determine what things in our life we no longer have a use for or have outgrown. It enables us to make choices to purposely move forward, whilst also giving motivation to let go of and replace any attitudes and behaviours that don’t match what we want.
God loves for us to imagine, dream and ask for what our life could look like and what we desire. He never thinks our dreams or requests are too insignificant or big for Him to take notice of. He says, “Delight in me and I will give you the desires of your heart.” (Psalm 37:4)
There is power in seeing beyond where you are today; to look into the future to who you’d like to be, achieve and experience.
TAKE 20 MINUTES
Today start by taking twenty minutes to sit with God and dream and imagine. Write down your thoughts and start to get a clear picture of the life you desire.
Then everyday spend 20 minutes seeking and asking God to help you to plan, strategize and have the wisdom to choose well in your relationships, beliefs, mindsets and pursuits for the life you really want.
“Now to Him who is able to [carry out His purpose and] do superabundantly more than all that we dare ask or think [infinitely beyond our greatest prayers, hopes, or dreams], according to His power that is at work within us.” (Ephesians 3:20 AMP)
“For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.” (Philippians 4:13 NLT)
Prayer: Lord thank you that you want me to live a life that is full of life and freedom. Please give me wisdom and clarity to know what I want and also what I need to let go of, so that I might have the life that you have planned for me. In Jesus Name Amen.
