14 Oct -Do You

Over the last few days I’ve been reminded once again how important it is to be yourself and not to shy away or hide who you really are. Our authentic, raw self is always far more powerful than any expectation or pressure we may feel to fit in with the status quo, especially in a world where we can be bombarded through every technological device to be like everyone else. The freedom to simply be who and what we authentically are is highly valuable and also liberating for those who seek to be more real themselves.

For me over the last few days that has meant being able to let people into my own private space with Jesus and allowing them to see how I take my hands off the controls and engage in heavenly realms. One of the ways I do that is to paint…so paint I did. In front of a crowded room, with my apron, bare feet, Jesus and the raw me. I figure if I like and have learnt and benefited from something then chances are someone else will be able to appreciate, be encouraged, inspired and perhaps like what I like too. And if they don’t what does it matter if I know that it is compelling, gracious—the best, not the worst; the beautiful, not the ugly and something to praise about. (Philippians 4:8‭-‬9 MSG)

Today I encourage you to be authentically you…the real, raw and honest you. Because with Jesus working in and alongside you that “you” will be awesome.

Summing it all up, friends, I’d say you’ll do best by filling your minds and meditating on things true, noble, reputable, authentic, compelling, gracious—the best, not the worst; the beautiful, not the ugly; things to praise, not things to curse… Do that, and God, who makes everything work together, will work you into his most excellent harmonies.” (Philippians 4:8‭-‬9 MSG)

“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.” (Romans 12:2)

Prayer: Lord please help me to be comfortable to show We ho I really a m, and that if I don’t like tthat person to be honest about why not and to let you work in me to chip away anything that doesn’t reflect who you created me to be, so that the person you created me to be can shine through.
