16 July - Living From A Heavenly Perspective

I've just received my new pair of multifocal glasses, and depending on which way I look through the lens and the angle I hold my head dictates how I will see up close, from a middle distance, or further afield. I'm discovering I need to adjust my perspective to be able to see through the correct part of the lens to the desired distance I am focusing on.

How we live our lives is also determined by how we see and is always dependent on the point of view and perspective we are looking from. Look at a circumstance or relationship from one angle, and you'll see it a certain way, yet change perspective and the angle and you'll see the situation totally different.

God, however, wants us to look, think and believe from His perspective, which is why He asks us to set our hearts and minds on things above and to seek His Kingdom and way of doing things so that we will know how to walk. He knows when we look from an earthly view, only choosing to see from what we can taste, see and feel that we will have a skewed view of things and make decisions based only on the natural rather than leaning on Him and the ability of His supernatural power that is available to us. (Colossians 3:2; Matthew 6:33)

But the more we spend thinking about the things of God and heaven, the more heavenly your perspective becomes, and the easier it is for us to believe for heaven to impact our earthly circumstances and changes them for the better. The world's perspective has limitations about what is possible and what we can and can't do, but a heavenly perspective is one where all things are possible, and God is King. (Isaiah 55:8-9)

Instead of conforming to the pattern and limitations of the world, I encourage you to start looking at your situations from a heavenly perspective.

Determine to come up out of an earthly way of perceiving your circumstances by adjusting your viewpoint to see from heaven's eyes; immerse yourself in what God says is possible by spending time in God's Word, and get to know Him and how heaven works.

It's in renewing your thoughts and hearts with God's words and ways, and being around others who also want to live heavenly-minded that you will start to have a different perspective. It's a perspective where the sick are healed, needs are provided for, blind eyes are opened, the deaf hear, the impossible becomes possible, and heavenly ideas and creative solutions are revealed to you as you allow your thoughts to be governed by the truth of God's word that says that nothing is impossible for Him.

"Jesus looked at them and said, "With man, this is impossible, but with God, all things are

possible." (Matthew 19:26)

"Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is – his good, pleasing and perfect will." (Romans 12:2)

"Therefore, since you have been raised with Christ, strive for the things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things." (Colossians 3:2)

Prayer: Lord, please help me to live with a heavenly perspective instead of a limiting earthly one so that I can see people and circumstances through heaven's eyes and believe for awesome and amazing things. In Jesus name Amen.
