2 July – Let Us Worship

About seven years ago I had a dream where Jesus spoke to me. He showed me a church building and the target it is for the enemy. Then I saw many, many gatherings of people like hubs of light everywhere, all connected together by strands like electricity. There were so many of these hubs shining like “beacons of light” that they could not easily be hit or extinguished.

I dreamt this years before any virus, news of pandemic, forced lockdowns, border closures and churches being unable to gather because of government restrictions was imagined to be possible.

Today I was reminded of my dream as once again in the state in Australia where we live the church has become an easy target as the enemy attempts to silence God’s people to worship. Government regulations now state that even live streamed worship is not permitted because of the risks of transmission whilst recording. No in-person meetings, no hugs, no touching, no connect groups, no singing in church services and now no live streaming of worship music into homes.

When we as a society crave safety over our freedom we will inevitably be faced with decisions as to what we will permit to enable us to feel safe and be seen to be doing the “right’ thing.

But I believe our freedoms are precious and should not be taken lightly or presumptuously. They were bought with a price on more than one level and whether we feel safe or not shouldn’t be the primary question we are asking ourselves any longer.

Should we not also be asking, “What are we becoming accustomed and conditioned to? What are we prepared to give up for safety’s sake, and who and what do we believe ultimately protects, heals, guides and has the final say on how we live out our faith and lives?”

The enemy has undoubtedly had his hand in what we have seen unfold over the last eighteen months across the globe. But God is also at work and in the words of King Hezekiah (who knew a thing or two about being surrounded by enemy armies and seeing God intervene),

Don’t be afraid of this mighty army for there is a power far greater on our side. They may have a great army, but they are just men. We have the Lord our God to fight our battles for us!” (2 Chronicles 32:5-8)

Jesus is ahead of anything the devil or people have thought up. The gates of hell will not prevail against us and no weapon formed against us will prosper. When you resist the devil he will flee.

No scheme of the enemy, no man, no woman, no government mandate, no lockdown, no restriction and no, “You can’t sing and bring your worship to Jesus” will win!

If you know Jesus, you are the church regardless of whether you’re in a building or not. You are and carry the light of the world, and you were chosen for such a time as this!

Choose today to shine, to stand and believe in God’s goodness, to declare heaven on earth, and to make His name great throughout the whole world.

Your voice, your song, your worship matters so let it be heard #letusworship #wewillworship

“Your lives light up the world. For how can you hide a city that stands on a hilltop? And who would light a lamp and then hide it in an obscure place? Instead, it’s placed where everyone in the house can benefit from its light. So don’t hide your light! Let it shine brightly before others.” (Matthew 5:14-16 TPT)
