2 Nov – Look Up

God wants your heart and mind to be on things above and not on earthly things. (Colossians 3:2) He knows that when you hold the world in your heart, it will result in entangling you in its delights and distractions. It’s why when your heart is set primarily on earthly pursuits it will inevitably pull at your relationship with God and shift your awareness of the realms of Heaven and the supernatural.

But when you fix your eyes on things above, God will reveal mysteries to you, wonders in the heavens, dreams and visions, and things to come. He will teach you how to prosper on earth, how to relate to others in love, and how to live victorious and free.

You will also connect in your relationships on a higher level, Spirit to Spirit, no matter where you are. Then you can relate to others free from the tangled web of the world’s system and the cares of the world.

But you will not receive this knowledge, depth of relationships and insight if you do not let go of the entanglements that pull you down into the world’s thinking and way of doing things. You will remain living on a purely natural level rather than accessing supernatural wisdom, connection and ability.

But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come.” (John 16:13)

Today, think about those things that pull your affections away from God and distract and entangle you back down onto the earth. As you realise what they are, I encourage you to release them to Jesus and shift and engage your focus on Him.

It takes practice and putting little reminders in your day to remind you to turn your heart and thoughts back upon Jesus and heaven, but by reason of practice, you will discover and deepen your understanding of these things.

A whole new reality awaits as you choose to live Heaven focused, and everything on earth rather than being your “all in all” will remind you of the divine and thus holds a greater richness and blessing to it.  Look up today.

But solid food is for the mature, for those who have their powers of discernment trained by constant practice to distinguish good from evil.” (Hebrews 5:14)

“But our citizenship is in heaven.” (Ephesians 3:20)

“Therefore, you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens of the saints and members of God’s household”. (Ephesians 2:19)

Therefore, since you have been raised with Christ, strive for the things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God.” (Colossians 3:1)

“Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.” (Colossians 3:2)

Prayer: Lord, please help me to disentangle myself from the things that so easily pull me out of a relationship and the awareness of you. I choose to fix my heart and mind heavenward today. In Jesus Name. Amen.
