Every move we make, word we speak, every incline of our hearts and reflection of our thoughts, we get to choose it all.
And, amidst the noise and all this choice is God’s quiet, still voice whispering, “You can do things your way – I’ve given you free will to do that, but I have a way you may not have thought of which is better.”
Then He leaves us with the decision – Our way or His.
But as I've discovered, when faced daily with this choice, I can still inadvertently do things my way and end up stressed, frustrated, or disappointed.
So if I'm being wise, I choose His way…
I choose to forgive when people are hurtful because that is the better way; to deal with my hurts, to remain hopeful, and not give in or quit.
I choose to look ahead, let go of the past and choose His will and way over mine.
I aim to choose Jesus daily and seek His way by reading and studying His word, spending time with Him and with others that know Him too. And when I do these things, I repeatedly learn that his way is the best way; His thoughts are higher than mine, and He makes a way even when it seems there is no way.
Today, I encourage you to choose God’s way and thinking over yours. Invite Him to do whatever He wants to do in your life because His ways are better.
It doesn’t mean it’ll always be smooth sailing, but you will stay afloat, reach your destination, and have a life that far surpasses anything you could achieve alone. (Ephesians 3:20)
"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord. “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.” (Isaiah 55:8-9)
“Who is the man who fears the Lord? He will instruct him in the way he should choose.” (Psalm 25:12)
“I have set before you life and death, the blessing and the curse. So choose life in order you may live, you and your descendants.” (Deuteronomy 30:19)
Prayer: Lord, please help me let go and allow you into all the places in my heart. I want you to rule and reign in my life, so I choose your will and your way today. in Jesus name Amen.
