Sometimes God uses the most difficult things we face to show us the most accurate things about our lives.
What we do and believe in private will ultimately be played out in public. It’s why the work of who we are and are becoming is always done behind the scenes. There are no overnight successes – just people who remained while others fell by the wayside.
A quote impacted me by Bob Goff, who wrote, “The same person who is upfront on a stage needs to be the same person who is waiting for a rental car at the back of the line. If you can’t do that, either stop driving or get off the stage. Bringing those two different people together is going to take a whole lifetime and a bucket load of love and grace.’
We can think our mistakes and disappointments disqualify us, and these things can be confronting when we acknowledge who we are right now. It’s like we get a wake-up call to when we are faced with ourselves, especially when we are under pressure or facing a challenge.
But these things can be onramps to our destiny or be issues that cause us to regress and stagnate and fortunately, God sees everything as an opportunity with Him to heal, prepare and refine us, and asks us to see who we are becoming rather than who we are or once were.
We are his masterpiece, and He is faithful to finish what He started in us. (Ephesians 2:10; Philippians 1:6)
You will face difficulties, challenges, and even mess up as you grow, but what you do next is what defines you.
Today I encourage you to examine your heart and actions and determine to seek Jesus and His next steps for you.
Cast all your cares on Him, trust that as you come to Him, He will cleanse you from your mistakes. Then ask Him to fill you with His strength and power as you renew your thoughts with what He says in His word, so you continue to be transformed. He thinks you are terrific and nothing is ever wasted with Him. He is in the business of restoration and renewal so you are going to be okay :)
“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.”(1 John 1:9)
“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” (Philippians 4:13 NKJV)
“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.” (Isaiah 43:18-19 NIV)
Prayer: Lord, thank you that you love me regardless of my mess up’s when I look to you, I can overcome them and move forward. Please help me continue to be consistent in all I am, whether I am on a stage or waiting in line and that your grace is sufficient for me today. In Jesus name Amen.
