4 February - A Key To Hearing God's Voice Speaking To you

Jesus doesn't want you to struggle, and if you check in with him and learn to listen to what he is speaking to you and your heart, he will give us the intricate details you need so you aren't living in uncertainty.

Psalm 23 is a well-known chapter in the bible and talks about Jesus being our shepherd and that we have more than enough in him. The psalm writer was David, and he knew God as his best friend.

Things haven't changed because Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever (Hebrews 13:8). He wants to be your best friend. And a best friend doesn't want you to struggle.

But, if you allow the world to dictate to you and only listen to its loud voice, don't be surprised and wonder why you are stressed out or have become fearful of what's ahead.

Fortunately, the way of Jesus is very simple. If you take the time to get quiet, you will discover Jesus' voice and recognise the detailed guidance and instructions He promises.

A simple key of writing down what you are thinking about and feel God is saying is a good place to begin to learn to hear his voice. I encourage you to also daily read and get to know his words in the bible. (Start at the gospels - (I love the book of John, another close friend of Jesus)

As you do, you'll soon recognise how he speaks, and then you will know the path to take and have all you need in him. Take time today to listen to Jesus. He is speaking, and His words will be promises of provision, comfort, direction and peace.

Plus, Jesus won't only speak or give you just enough to meet your need. When a young boy offered him his lunch of 5 loaves and two fish, Jesus increased it to feed everyone. One lunch fed over 5,000 people, and when Jesus' friends collected the leftovers, there were 12 baskets of leftovers. (John 6:1-14 NIV)

Jesus always does exceedingly more, so expect him to show up in your world and help you live your best life. When you seek Him, he promises that you will find Him. (Jeremiah 29:13 NIV)

"Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path.' (Psalm 119:105)

"The Lord is my shepherd; I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures; he leads me beside quiet waters; he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name's sake.

Even though I walk through the darkest valley, i will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.

You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. "(Psalm 23 NIV)

Prayer; Lord, thank you that you want to be my best friend. Please help me to take the time to seek you and to learn to hear and know your voice. I want to know you as my best friend, shepherd, counsellor and the one who leads me in the way to go. In Jesus name Amen.
