We often complicate the things of God thinking that we have to do, say and be all these things to have access to God, heavenly places and His presence. When it is actually very simple. In John 10:9 Jesus says, “I am the Door. Anyone who enters through Me will be saved and will live forever, and will go in and out freely and will find good pastures”.
Other places in the bible talk about us being seated in heavenly places with Jesus now. “But because of His great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ, even when we were dead in our trespasses. It is by grace you have been saved! And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with Him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus”. (Ephesians 2:4-6)
We have a body but we also have a spirit, and our spirit when we ask Jesus into our lives is born anew. Any separation between God and us is removed. We can commune with the one who loves us, the Creator of the universe, simply by stepping into that place in Him. We have access to come in and out of heavenly places, because Jesus has opened up to us the door to us.
I have discovered that God has given us our imagination for a purpose, and that purpose is to be able to help us start to see those things that our natural senses can’t. When we focus in on Jesus, on things above and desire to be with Him, we actually get to see and hear beyond the natural realm into the spiritual.
“Therefore, since you have been raised with Christ, strive for the things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God.” (Colossians 3:1-2)
I often see myself walking along a garden path, through a gate and into a massive field where Jesus is. From there I get to go and visit different places in heaven…it’s a crazy, amazing, beautiful and busy place.
I used to think that maybe it was just my imagination, but then I started seeing and hearing about the same places as other people did when they talked about going into heaven to spend time with Jesus. God started speaking truths, imparting information and bringing understanding of how to deal with situations.
Heaven is for real and we don’t have to wait until we die to experience it. It’s a place we can go to see, hear, learn and experience more of God now.
Today I encourage you to renew your mindset about what is possible when you know Jesus. He says we can, “go in and out and come and go freely,” because He is the access point to heaven, not death. So why aren’t you going already? It’s an open invitation, and the call from heaven today is, “come up, come up here”! (John 10:9)
Prayer: Jesus, thank you that you are the door to heaven and that I can freely spend time with you there. Sorry for making death the way to heaven, and not you. I’m stepping in to heavenly places with you today. In Jesus Name Amen.
