4th June - You’ve Already Got the Green Light—Here’s Why It’s Time to Move

We’ve all been told to watch out for red flags or lights.

Our kids—and their friends—talk about them all the time, especially when it comes to relationships or big life decisions. Red lights are the signs that say, “Don’t go there. Don’t trust that. Don’t move too fast.” And then there are the flashing ones—the kind that scream RUN!

And honestly, it’s wise advice. Paying attention to red lights helps protect us—from heartbreak, from burnout, from getting pulled into things that just aren’t right for us.

But what if we’ve been so focused on spotting red lights that we’ve stopped looking for the green ones?

Green lights are the quiet invitations. The open doors. The things that spark your imagination, stir your heart, or fill you with peace. They're the moments that remind you who you are and what you’re here for. They draw you closer to Jesus.

But green light don’t always shout the loudest, but rather whisper: this matters.

You probably already have a few green lights right in front of you.

The kind that give you peace and feel right deep down. You don’t need to have it all figured out. You just need to move with what you do know—and trust that God's got you and that's enough for now.

So don’t get stuck waiting for the perfect moment or for everything to line up just right.

Instead, pay attention to the peace in your heart—the quiet nudges that gently say, “this matters. (A good check is that green lights will look and sound like Jesus and His best for your life)

Today I encouage you to start looking and leaning into the things you’re already sure about. Because your green lights are already here—you just have to notice them.

• Take 10 minutes to write down 2–3 things you feel sure about right now—what brings peace, purpose, or joy and sounds like Jesus.

• Choose one, and take one simple action toward it this week.

• Ask God to show you where He’s already saying “go.”

Jesus, Please help me see the green lights in my life—the places You’re already at work, the gifts You’ve already given me. Help me to see them clearly and not get stuck waiting; that I would have the courage to move, even when I don’t have every detail. I trust that You go before me. In Jesus' name Amen.
