5 Aug – Tune In

A band or orchestra can be in perfect harmony with one another, but they can still be out of tune. Primarily because if they tune to the wrong note to begin with, the instruments will play together but still be out of tune.

Likewise there can be people, movements, and organisations that are connected and working together, but that does not mean they are right in what they stand for or are acting upon.

Unless we are tuned to the heart of God whatever we are spending all our effort on will simply be noise and activity, but it won’t necessarily have heaven on it or be close to God’s heart. (1 Corinthians 13:1)

There is one tuning fork that hits a perfect note, and it’s not man-made. It’s God’s and His heartbeat, which we are all created to tune to, but it doesn’t happen automatically. We have to tune in and choose to listen for God’s heart.

The more we yield to what God is saying and doing, the more we will find our hearts drawn to Him and those people with those same values and heartbeat. Our desire to be tuned in to God makes things all come into alignment and a unity that the Holy Spirit creates Himself is formed.

After ten days of prayer, working out their issues and yielding to God, there was an outpouring of the Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost that sounded like a mighty rushing wind.120 people all began speaking in other languages and a sound which originated from heaven erupted in the room as a result of a group of people making an effort to tune their hearts to God.

Every time we say yes to the Holy Spirit a sound is released and something happens as people start to think and believe differently. Thousands of people across the city left everything they had been doing to follow the sound they could hear as a result. These same people only days before had demanded that Jesus be crucified, yet they were now asking what must we do to be saved. (Acts 2)

Today if you want to have a life that makes the maximum impact then tune your everything towards God.

As you do you’ll be aligning your life with the purpose and plans of heaven and syncing with others who are also in tune with Him. No matter what negative things are going on around us right now, God has the answer and as we turn our hearts towards Him we will see situations turn around, experience restoration and witness heaven come to earth.

“My son, give me your heart and let your eyes delight in my ways,” (Proverbs 23:26)

“Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.” (Isaiah 51:10)

Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it” (Proverbs 4:23).

Prayer: Lord help me to tune my heart to you. I want to hear and understand what you care about and know your heart today. In Jesus’ name, Amen
