If we knew that everything was going to be alright and we were going to be okay, how would we be today?
Would we be as stressed about the things of our day, or would we choose to just get as much enjoyment out of the day as possible?
Taking the attitude that “everything’s alright” can change our perspective completely. Instead of spending our day just surviving or getting anxious or stressed, we can look at the circumstances of our day and choose to smile, relax and find joy! To enjoy the journey, the experience, the living of our day.
We might need to practice choosing the attitude and thought that everything is okay, especially when we can feel our anxiety levels rising. But practice asking yourself “If I knew everything was going to be ok and I am going to be ok how will I be today?”
To help with this attitude adjustment remind yourself of God’s promises.
“That if He is for us, who can be against us. That neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God” What then shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us.” (Romans 8:31, 39)
“He who did not spare His own Son but gave Him up for us all, how will He not also, along with Him, freely give us all things?” (Romans 8:32)
When we focus on everything being okay and the fact that everything ahead will be okay because God loves us, and is for us and not against us, we can smile in the face of every circumstance and know His peace instead of anxiety.
Today expect God’s goodness to be apparent in your life. Expect whatever God’s promises in His word to manifest; expect His provision, healing, deliverance and safety. Because when we start to do that we can relax and enjoy the day. We may hit a few potholes on the road along the way, but it’s okay because everything’s going to be alright.
Prayer: Lord thank you that when I choose to be in a relationship with you I can rely on your promise that everything is going to be alright. Help me to rest in that truth today. In Jesus name Amen.
