I'm currently driving out in the country on the way to a gig and as we are a long way from the city we frequently have no phone reception. Reception issues can occur for a variety of reasons and are related to the area you are in or the available signals.
However often with poor reception if you can get to the highest point it will help, which is why you often see people wandering around holding their phones above their heads or climbing to a higher area to try and get a few more bars of reception on their phones. It reminded me that when we are wanting guidance or to check in with God our posture and position towards Him does matter. If we focus on the problem, circumstances or allow ourselves to be distracted its hard to communicate or get a clear signal with God, but as we focus on Him and clear away distractions and anything that messes with our receptivity we will get the 'signals' we need and are looking for. Today I encourage you to get to higher ground, so to speak. Set your hearts and minds on things above, cast all your cares upon Jesus and position your heart and mind to hear from Him and trust that as you do your reception and ability to hear and be heard by Him will be 100%.
"You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart." (Jeremiah 29:13)
"But without faith it is impossible to [walk with God and] please Him, for whoever comes [near] to God must [necessarily] believe that God exists and that He rewards those who [earnestly and diligently] seek Him." (Hebrews 11:6)
Prayer: Lord thank you for clear reception and the ability to both connect and hear from you. Please help me to focus today, not on the noise and distractions around me, but on you. In Jesus name Amen
