There is a saying that "we are what we eat", and for the last few months, I've been hearing God speaking to my heart to make an effort to purposely feed on life-that, which promotes growth and strengthens my life. Essentially He's been saying, "Get really strong!"
Just as our physical bodies reveal what we put in our mouths, our spiritual lives also disclose what we've been "eating" spiritually. We become what we consume and allow in our hearts which is why it's essential to routinely press pause and consider what we are feeding on and putting before our ears and eyes? What are we thinking day in and day out, and are these things strengthening or depleting our life?
God has supplied everything we need for life and godliness, and He has given us His Holy Spirit to lead, guide, counsel, and encourage us.
But if we listen, God will direct us to be surrounded by uplifting, inspiring people, places, and experiences designed to spur us on in our journey and help us become strong in Him.
"For His divine power has bestowed on us (absolutely) everything necessary for a dynamic spiritual life and godliness through true and personal knowledge of Him.." (2 Peter 1:3 AMP)
Today, I encourage you to take care of your health, both in your physical body and spiritual life. Jesus said, "For what does it benefit someone to gain the whole world and yet lose his life?" (Mark 8:36 CSB)
Choose wisely what you "eat" and give place to in your heart and mind, for what you feed on is what makes you who you are, bringing either life or loss.
Some keys to start muscling up today are by:
· Reading the bible
· Taking the time to talk and listen to God
· Declaring His promises over your life
· Listening to faith-filled, inspiring teaching and preaching
· Being around great people who are mature in their faith and character and can encourage you in your walk with Jesus.
Do these things consistently, and you'll begin to become spiritually strong with some serious faith muscles, which will subsequently change your expectations and the way you think, speak, and live your life.
"So keep your thoughts continually fixed on all that is authentic and real, honourable and admirable, beautiful and respectful, pure and holy, merciful and kind. And fasten your thoughts on every glorious work of God, praising him always. (Philippians 4:8 TPT)
"Our marvellous God whose gracious Word can make you into what He wants you to be, and gives you everything you could possibly need." (Acts 20:32 MSG)
Prayer: Lord, I ask that you would pour out your supernatural strength and flood my innermost being with your divine might and explosive power. As I constantly use my faith and spend time with you, I trust that your life will be released deep inside me and that your love and promises will become the very source and root of my life. In Jesus name Amen.
