If you bought a bottle of champagne today that you planned to open on December 31st, what would you be celebrating when you popped the cork open?
Thinking about all you want to experience, achieve and enjoy over a specific period helps to prioritise and create focus in your day.
It's helpful to write down what you are wanting to do and achieve so you can prioritise your time and energy. Once you know what they are spend time incorporating those things into specific goals and making a plan of action. Our plans and strategies may change throughout the year, but it's important to have a starting point.
Today I encourage you to pick 10-12 things you want to achieve or experience over this coming year and then make a visual reminder using pictures/words on a vision board or a list on your phone to help keep you focused every day on moving towards accomplishing them.
Have some smaller goals that will be easier to achieve and a quick win to encourage you in your bigger goals.
However, an important point to remember in all your goal setting is to spend the most time doing things and being with those who make you the happiest.
It doesn't mean you avoid the tasks or see those who don't, but the majority of our lives benefit from being spent surrounded by all that brings us joy. (John 10:10; Ephesians 3:20)
God's heart is always to grant us our heart's desires and to fulfil all our plans as we walk in step with Him. Each day is a blank canvas ready to write the next page of our story, so I encourage you to set some big and small goals and then each day determine to go out make all you are and do worth popping that champagne bottle open for on December 31st.
"May he grant you your heart's desire and fulfil all your plans." (Psalm 20:4)
"Remember not the former things nor consider the things of old. Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert." (Isaiah 43:18-19)
"He has made everything beautiful in its time." (Ecclesiastes 3:11)
Prayer: Lord, thank you that you are always doing something new. Please help me set some goals and keep looking ahead towards all you have for me this year and in the future. In Jesus name Amen.
