11 June – Make The Transition

transition

Our lives are full of opportunities and with these opportunities we are usually required to make a transition to go to the next level. But when we don’t transition or travel through changes well, we can end up struggling or even becoming stuck in our journey.

Whether we like it or not we are faced with transition all through our lives; from a child to a teenager, teenager to an adult,  employee to employer, single to a couple, couple to a family, having no responsibilities to having others to care for.

If we own a business and want that business to continue to grow and develop we are going to have to transition our thinking from working “in” the business to “working on the business”. That means change and a willingness to step back and to write an overall plan, implement necessary changes, delegate roles and learn to trust others so that we don’t have to be doing everything ourselves.

When we face making a transition the key question to ask ourselves  is, “Will we fight these changes or will we embrace each opportunity, new beginning and the chance to grow.

I encourage you  to take some time to write down where you would like to be in the future. Pray and seek God for His wisdom and help with any transition barriers. Then assess what you need to do and take the necessary steps to move forward.

Some habits and mindsets will have to change as you determine to transition. You may have to stop participating in certain pastimes, be prepared for some relationships to change, and do things in a different way as you start to learn new skills and allow God to work in you. But the transition will be worth it because God has amazing plans for your life and they’re always far greater than anything you could ever possibly imagine. (Ephesians 3:20)

Today if you know you have become stuck in a transition phase I encourage you to stop and assess the point you came to a stand still? Where did you fail to go to the next level or to take the next step when it was needed? What mindsets, fears or disappointments have caused you to fail to move forward in your life in a healthy and productive way?

Pray about everything, let go of any hurts from the past, listen for God’s answer and know your dreams and the future God has for you will be on the other side of your next steps and choosing to make the transition.

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” (Joshua 1:9)

“See I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.” (Isaiah 43:19)

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”(Philippians 4:6-8)

Prayer: Lord I thank you that you go before me and guide me in the way to go. Please help me where I may have come to a stand still or not transitioned well through some particular phase in my life, relationships, or career. I want to keep moving forward so I ask that you help me transition well through every area of my life. In Jesus name Amen.
