12 June – The In-Between Moments

Any destination or fulfilment of a goal in life has what I call in-between moments, where we haven’t quite reached a goal or destination but have to walk out the process to get where we want to be.

I’ve discovered, however, that it’s all these in-between moments that make up a large portion of our life. Of course, the success, awards, accolades, and end goal are amazing when reached, but these achievements aren’t the whole story.

It’s also the in-between places, those everyday tasks, relationships and where we consistently stick to the plan to achieve our dreams and goals that make our lives full, whole and reflective of a life well-lived.

God wants our lives to be full and overflowing and knows that it’s not just about arriving at our goals that brings colour and meaning to our lives, but everything we experience and get to live in-between on the journey. (John 10:10)

Maybe the good stuff isn’t ahead or behind. Maybe it’s somewhere in between right in the midst of this moment, here and now.” ( J Goins)

To make the most of all of what we get to live make it a a habit to press pause and be mindful and thankful of the space you are in, the people you are with and everything around you, rather than just rushing through your tasks, connection points with others and your day. The good stuff is here and now!

Take the opportunity to seize those in-between moments between points A and B in your day, and make them ones you can remember and enjoy.

It’s never just another day, but one in which God wants us to rejoice because when it comes down to it, He’s the one who made it for you to enjoy. Nothing is a surprise to Him, and when we seek to live our day being thankful and looking for His hand in all we experience and get to live out, we will realise God is there making great all our in-between moments too.

This is the day that the Lord has made; We will rejoice and be glad in it.” (Psalm 118:24)

“The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance [to the full, till it overflows].” (John 10:10 AMP)

Prayer: Lord, thank you for this day and all that you have given me to enjoy in it. Please help me keep perspective to enjoy the journey and remember that you will work all things together for good as I trust in you. I thank you for all the in between moments on the way today. In Jesus name Amen.
