14 May - The Right Time

I was feeling a fragile little today and then I came across a memory about a day that reminded me of how God sees our hearts' desires and is always on set up to bless and pour out His love upon us. It reminded and encouraged me that God has perfect timing and cares about every detail of our life.

Isaac, our youngest child, and I received a special surprise several years ago. We got to see a brand new baby foal, only hours old, as we arrived at the stables for our ride. We'd been watching the mare get larger and larger as her due date grew closer, and when we arrived at the stables, we discovered that we were one of the first to see the adorable new arrival. We couldn't plan that we would be there at that opportune time, but it was a desire of Isaac's that he would get to see this little foal straight after it had been born, and that day it was granted.

God hears our prayers, conversations, and our hopes and dreams, and the bible says that "when we delight in Him, He gives us the desires of our hearts". (Psalm 37:4) "He is able to do superabundantly more than all that we dare ask or think [infinitely beyond our greatest prayers, hopes, or dreams], according to His power that is at work within us". (Ephesians 3:20 AMP)

When we listen, love, and follow God, we can expect these superabundant things to happen often!

I love moments like that day at the stables, and I couldn't have planned it better. I know that God heard Isaac's heart and desire and wanted to give him a special surprise and gift.

I believe God has a lot of opportune moments for each of us, where we are in the right place, at the right time, meeting the right person, or receiving that needed information.

I was reminded of the miracle of new birth and being in the midst of an opportune moment looking at that perfect little foal with Isaac that day. God is in the habit of orchestrating these happenings (which I don't believe are coincidences), so He can then pour out a blessing or even use us to be the conduit for someone else's blessing.

We may have been praying for these things, but at other times it is just God doing more than we can ask, think, dream or imagine. He has a plan for our life, but it isn't necessarily going to follow the path we think. We make our plans, but God directs our path, which means that often God is going to mess with our plans to position us for something better.

"We can make our plans, but the LORD determines our steps". (Proverbs 16:19)

Be encouraged today that He has heard your prayers and even the secret desires of your heart.

Trust and surrender to him today to direct and guide you to the right moment, place, or person, and that He will answer you, even if that may mean messing with your plans!

He knows what He is doing, so expect the unexpected and make room in your life for an opportune moment that has the potential to change your situation, circumstances, and the entire course of your day and future. (Ephesians 3:20)

Prayer: Lord, thank you that you direct my steps, and it is always with a grand plan in mind. Thank you for your suddenlies and the moments when you have me in precisely the right place, at the right time. Please help me be quick to respond to your promptings and remain expectant for your orchestrated moments in my life. In Jesus Name, Amen.
