18 May – What’s Your Power?

131070-Leo-Buscaglia-Quote-Your-talent-is-God-s-gift-to-you-What-you-do

I don’t ever want to get to the stage in life where I’m just waiting for time to pass. I guess I believe that deposited within each one of us is the ability to live a life that truly matters.

A great way to begin to live more intentionally is to understand what our power, passion and purpose is. These three keys help us discover our gifts, the fuel for our soul and the purpose for which we were made. Out of those three areas we can then ascertain what and where we should place our focus and what to ask God for.

Don’t just let life happen, happen to life and take the time to ask, “What are my strengths and what do I naturally excel at? What are my unique qualities and what gives me joy and makes me feel alive?”

These qualities and strengths will help you understand what to focus on and to pray into. Plus as you connect with God He will take your natural powers –your gifts and abilities and add His “super” to them. With His enabling you will always do far more than you could ever think, dream or imagine. (Ephesians 3:20)

“For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” (Ephesians 2:10)

“Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, let us prophesy in proportion to our faith; or ministry, let us use it in our ministering; he who teaches, in teaching; he who exhorts, in exhortation; he who gives, with liberality; he who leads, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness.” (Romans 12:6-8)

Today spend some time considering what your unique “powers” are. Write these things down and talk to God about them. No gift or ability is insignificant and can in God’s hands be used to increase your life, be a blessing to others and create a life worth shouting about.

“Whatever you do, work at it with your whole being, for the Lord and not for men, because you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as your reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving. (Colossians 2:24)

Prayer: Lord help me to know what my power is; those gifts and abilities that you have uniquely given me. Please help me to use and grow stronger in these things so that I would have a focus and vision.  In Jesus Name Amen.
