Outside my 2nd story bedroom window is a large tree that has been completely bare of leaves since our family moved into the neighbourhood several months ago. All winter, I’ve been looking out my window at its barren branches and waiting with expectation for its leaves to appear with the arrival of spring.
Finally, this past week green shoots have started sprouting all over the tree. As I write this, I’m looking out, not at barren, stark branches but beautiful, bright green foliage all over my tree. It’s a reminder that even when things look desolate, new life and hope will be simmering beneath the surface, ready to burst forth. It may look like nothing is happening if we gauge things with our natural senses, but God doesn’t work within natural and physical constraints. He is supernatural and calls those things that are not as though they are. When He creates and breaks forth with our answers and the solutions to what we are facing, He doesn’t start in the natural but the supernatural realm where faith, hope and believing speak the loudest. Where the substance of what we hope for is created out of those things that are not previously seen.
The tree outside my window is a testament to new life, hope, and God’s purposes that will not be thwarted. What He has spoken and promised to you, He will do.
“I know that You can do all things, And that no purpose of Yours can be thwarted” (Job 42:2).
Today whatever you are going through, don’t base your trust and belief on your natural senses. Instead, place your confidence in the truth of God’s word and what you see with the eyes of your spirit.
I encourage you to get your praise dance and shout of victory ready because answers and newness of life are breaking forth like springtime. Life, hope and abundance are bursting to appear, and your circumstances that seemed hopeless and full of despair will suddenly change as you invite Jesus into your world and continue to stand on the rock-solid foundation of who He is and His promises.
See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.” (Isaiah 43:19)
“No weapon that is fashioned against you shall succeed, and you shall confute every tongue that rises against you in judgment. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord and their vindication from me, declares the Lord.” (Isaiah 54:19)
“Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” (James 4:7)
Prayer: Lord, thank you that you are moving and breaking forth in my circumstances. I stand on your promises and trust you today that change is coming. In Jesus name Amen.
