Today I found something, actually it found me and I’m quite thankful it did. The something was a small piece of paper with a list on it of all the things I wanted to happen and I’d told God about. It was dated at the top of the page and as I calculated I realised it was written almost exactly 2 years ago.
The crazy thing is that what’s on that list has been fulfilled almost completely, yet at the time of my writing that list these things looked almost impossible. However I’d written these requests down, prayed and declared that God answers my prayer, that He grant’s me the desires of my heart as I delight in Him, that nothing is impossible with God and He supplies all my needs. I’ve learnt if I wait on him He’ll give me a word to stand on and for me to release and declare over a situation, need or dream.
Interestingly in my time with God yesterday He once again said for me to, “Make a list of what you’d like to see happen, point my Word at it and declare it done”! Today’s fulfilled list was just encouragement for me that when we do things Gods way, trust Him, keep speaking the desired result and not the problem, and stand firm He will show Himself strong on our behalf. He is faithful to His promises and if we hold steady, don’t give up on the dreams and the destiny that He’s placed in our hearts He will bring it to pass.
Some things I say are like alpha alpha sprouts, they come up really fast when planted and you see them fulfilled quickly, and then other things might take a little longer. But regardless of when we plant the seed of a prayer request, there will always be something happening under the surface, in the “dirt” where you cannot see it.
God and all of heaven go to work and into setup mode once we pray, and if we keep watering our requests like water to a seed, give thanks and keep a good attitude, like pouring sunshine on a seed, then that thing will come up; it will come to pass. The key is to not give up; to throw up our hands and say it’s not working, and say it’s too hard and start digging up our seed before it has a chance to sprout and breakthrough.
Some things take time to grow, like a mighty oak tree, but once they grow, that tree (that answer and breakthrough) will last and shape generations. Some things we are praying and believing for today are going to effect our children, grand children and great grandchildren, and all those our lives impact and so it matters hugely that we hold steady now and do not grow weary and give up.
God loves us so much and His thoughts and plans for us are always, always good. He doesn’t want to with hold any good thing from us, but to bless and prosper our lives so much that we’ll be shouting it from the rooftops. When we have a dream, desire or request, if it is something or someone who is going to make our lives more whole, blessed, joyful and help us fulfill our destiny in Him He will move heaven and earth to make it happen.
I might add here that my husband of nearly 30 years was on the list of a hurting 17 year old young woman.. I wrote down and listed the desires of my heart and God heard and well and truly surpassed my list and sent a handsome, tanned, young man complete with the craziest dimples and a smile that turned heads into my life.. he loved and still loves Jesus first and cherishes me like no-one else.
Today whatever dream you have in your heart, whatever you are facing or struggling with, whatever you are believing for I encourage you to write it down. Then go to Gods word and ask Him to give you a word from the bible to stand on. Google scripture if you need to find a scripture verse for the subject you need a promise about. The right verse will jump out at you, and when it does write it down and start declaring it done.
God says He is alert and active watching over His Word to perform it, and that the angel’s listen up and go into action whenever people who believe start speaking Gods promises. (Jeremiah 1:12; Ps 103:20) That prayer, request, dream or desire when attached to Gods Word has within it the power to come to pass, because its has dynamic power in it like a supercharged seed ready to grow and bear fruit.
“Write down the vision; make it plain on tablets, so he may run who reads it”, (Habakkuk 2:2)
“For the Lord God is a sun and shield; the Lord bestows favour and honour. No good thing does he withhold from those who walk uprightly”. (Psalm 84:11)
“He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all – how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?” (Romans 8:32)
Prayer: Lord thank you that you want to answer my prayers. Please help me to have courage to write down the things on my heart and to start believing it is possible that I will see them happen in and through my life. All things become possible when you are involved, so thank you for breakthrough and answers today. In Jesus name Amen
