God has a plan for your life, but to step into that plan in its entirety, you will need to surrender your way of doing things and seek His.
The best part of surrendering to God is that He always has your best interests at heart and a plan for your life that will exceed anything you could ever think, pray, dream or imagine. (Ephesians 3:20; Jeremiah 29:11)
The more areas of your life you surrender to Him, the greater the room there is for God’s goodness and power to fill your life, and the more you resemble Jesus. (2 Corinthians 5:17)
Surrender, however, can be difficult, especially when you stop looking at Jesus and His promises and turn your attention to view your circumstances and future through natural eyes.
Which is why God wants you to surrender in the first place, for when you submit, you no longer have to make it all happen on your own, for it’s not in your strength that you live but in His. Plus, it’s tough for God to get anything to you when you hold your life tightly in your control.
We can fear letting go, but without yielding and surrendering our will, ability and plans, we often won’t see and be able to comprehend how it’s going to happen or take hold of the amazing, fulfilling life that God has to give us unless we do.
Today I encourage you to examine your heart as to whether you are surrendering and yielding every area of your life to God or trying to figure out how to do life in your wisdom and strength.
As Jesus said, “ whoever wishes to save his life will lose it; but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it.” (Matthew 16:24-25)
May you find your life in Him today.
“Trust in the Lord completely, and do not rely on your own opinions. With all your heart, rely on him to guide you, and he will lead you in every decision you make. Become intimate with him in whatever you do, and he will lead you wherever you go.” (Proverbs 3:5-6 TPT)
“He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all–how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?”(Romans 8:32)
“I have been crucified with Christ, and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.”(Galatians 2:20 NIV)
Prayer: Lord, you are good, and I know that the plans you have for my life are full of hope and a great future. Would you please help me trust you more so that I let go in surrender knowing that you hold my life and plans securely in your hands? In Jesus name amen
