There are going to be days where we might feel a little less strong than we want to, especially when under emotional or mental pressure. And it’s on these days that I’ve recognized I need to sure myself up so I dont breakdown under the circumstances in front of me. Much like David did in the bible when he chose to encourage Himself in the Lord in a time of difficulty. (1 Samuel 30:6)
However we often miss encouraging and being kind to ourselves. We can perhaps extend that to everyone else but we fail to strengthen and care for ourselves and can suffer needlessly as a result.
Being kind and encouraging yourself means sometimes even saying, “No” when everyone else may expect your “Yes”. Or choosing to protect your dreams and goals to the point that you walk away from a relationship, or hang up the phone or withdraw from negative conversations. It means that when we know we are under pressure, or about to go into “battle” that we do those things which will strengthen and protect our hearts and minds. We sure up and encourage ourselves so that we can keep running our race well.
It’s always a good day to strengthen yourself and to know what things help you do that. Is it doing something you enjoy, or using an ability which when practiced makes you feel strong,? Or taking time out to rest and recuperate, spending time with God and those you love; being around and listening to positive people or an inspiring message. What is it that brings you strength?
Today I encourage you to strengthen yourself in God and who he has made you to be. Don”t wait for times of pressure or difficulty to do that, but be ready and prepared for whatever each day may bring so that you can keeping running with strength into your destiny and achieving all that you were made for.
“Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength”. (Nehemiah 8:10)
“God is our refuge and strength, an ever present help in trouble”. (Psalm 46:1-3)
“So do bot fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand”. (Isaiah 41:10)
Prayer: Lord thankyou that you are always with me and that you equip and strengthen me for all that I am made to do and be. I am strong in you. In Jesus name Amen
