5 May – Paradigm Shift

images

Many of the issues and challenges we face as individuals is grounded in our inner paradigm, or subconscious GPS system we all have within us. Everything we experience in life goes into creating and shaping our inner paradigm and much of what we do or don’t do is a result of what we have chosen overtime to strengthen in our mindsets, emotions and beliefs.

The exciting thing about paradigms is that they can be changed. If we realise that we have a particular belief or mindset which isn’t based in truth and/or is a result of trauma, lies or unbelief we can replace these thoughts and beliefs with the truth of God’s word. Over time this creates a brand new paradigm within our hearts and mind.

CHANGE YOUR PARADIGM

The life we have right now is primarily the result of the thoughts we have believed about ourselves. They have become our inner GPS as to what we will do or not do, who we will connect with, how we speak, what we believe and how we feel.

The best way I know to change our paradigm is to examine who and what I am connected to. What is strengthening my beliefs about myself and the world around me. Who am I listening to? If the answer is based primarily in what others say or my own experiences then more than likely my inner paradigm is going to be full of limiting beliefs and even lies.

To replace these limiting paradigms we can do three things:

  1. Recognise and take captive any negative and contrary thoughts and beliefs that disagree with what God says about our life.

  2. Replace what does not align with God’s word with the truth of who God says we are and what He says about our life and future.

  3. Reinforce – every time thoughts and beliefs come up take time to examine them and their source and determine to reinforce the truth only.

CONNECT TO TRUTH

Put simply, we change our inner paradigm by connecting to truth and life.  As Matt Tommey says, “Change your connection and you will change your results”. If our connection is to God then the secrets and keys of the Kingdom are ours. We have all we need for life in Him. As we build into our relationship with God, His strength, wisdom, peace and love will invariably flow in and through us. Where we connect is where we receive life. (John 15)

We are made for connection so the question isn’t, “will we connect”, but rather who and to what will we connect to?

Today I encourage you to build authentic, life giving connections. Recognise and with God’s help break off any lies, negative thinking and unhealthy connections and begin to change your inner paradigm to one that leads to life, goodness and hope for the future. We are what we believe, think and have reinforced over time, but the good news is that we can change!

“I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing.” (John 15:5)

“He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.” (Colossians 1:17)

“We can demolish every deceptive fantasy that opposes God and break through every arrogant attitude that is raised up in defiance of the true knowledge of God. We capture, like prisoners of war, every thought and insist that it bow in obedience to the Anointed One.” (2 Corinthians 10:5)

“I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.” (Matthew 16:19)

Prayer: Lord please help me to recognise and replace any limiting beliefs and mindsets I may have in my life. I want my inner paradigm to be filled with what you say about my life and the world around me. Please help me to connect more deeply with you and with those who will strengthen my world and life today. In Jesus name Amen.
