5 Oct – Faith That Stands (Pt 4)

stand in faith.jpg

God won’t force us to believe what He says and done, or even force us to walk in the awesome plan and purpose He uniquely created for each one of us. That decision is entirely up to us. But I for one want to grab hold of with both hands all for which He took hold of me. I really don’t want to miss any opportunity because I didn’t choose to listen, be courageous enough or believe what God has said.

However we must understand that in our walk of faith and taking hold of God’s plan for our life that there will be a process to obtain what has been revealed to us and the desires that God has placed in our hearts.

First God speaks potential and revelation and as a result the seed of what is possible and God’s plan for us is planted in our hearts and minds. Then we face the problem of realising we need more faith for it to come to pass, which leads us to searching out and receiving the promises in His Word, which fixes and addresses the problem. Then we receive the plan and strategy to move forward.

What comes next is what I term, “putting wheels on our faith” or how to walk out the process stage.

5 . Walking out the process stage – “The fight of faith”. When we receive a promise from God there is a process to be walked through; it doesn’t usually just happen.  Unfortunately the thinking that,“if it’s God’s will for my life it’ll just happen” has caused far too many of us to miss out on God’s best for our lives.

When we start to put our believing to work there is more often than not opposition that comes to test our convictions, patience and faith. This is where those “faith muscles” we’ve been building in knowing God and His Word are put to use.

We will have to stand up to any opposition, negativity, doubt and unbelief and use our faith and the knowledge of who we are in Jesus and the authority we have in Him to see  our promise comes to pass. God says we have overcome and that we are more than conquerors, so He wants us to live like that is true. Meaning we can’t just lie down when we get hit, but instead determine that we will get back up and stand in the revelation we have received. That we will take the promises in God’s word (which God says is our sword – Ephesians 6:17) and use them to push through any opposition, disappointment and hurt. We will overcome and breakthrough if we do not grow weary and give up. (Galatians 6:9)

“For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.” (Ephesians 6:12)

“In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.” (Ephesians 6:17)

Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 8:37-38)

Today I encourage you to keep standing, believing and continuing to trust God. Get around positive faith filled people and continue to do what He tells you to do, remembering that God is faithful and the fulfilment of your promise is on the way.

Prayer: Lord please help me to see who I am in you and to continue to stand on your promises for my breakthrough as I  put “wheels on my faith” today. In Jesus name Amen
