Today I received some precision pens in the mail. I’ve been waiting for them as they are specialised paint pens which have a tiny, needle like instrument at the tip so that I can work in the finer details with accuracy and precision when painting.
The definition of precision is the ability or fact of being exact and accurate and receiving my precision pens got me thinking about how precise some things need to be in life. Actually from the moment of our conception precision was required and it only takes looking at a newborn baby to recognise the precise care and detail that God has taken to knit us together. Little fingers and toes and even the tiny nails on a baby’s hands and feet all reveal the care taken by our creator.
The minute details that consistently bring everything in creation together are a constant reminder of how God is interested and mindful of the little details of our lives and the universe we inhabit. We can get bogged down and even stressed by these things; the details of the planet, our relationships, ours and everyone else’s needs and the demands placed upon us, but God does not. He shines in the details, and actually asks us not to worry but instead to trust Him and to pray, so that He can take care of all these things. Then we need only listen to His guidance as He tells us what to focus on and do one step at a time.
Today, don’t get stressed by the details or what is before you. God wants you to know that He’s got everything in his capable hands and just like my precision pens, He specialises in seeing the best in you and refining and highlighting whatever he needs to bring all things together for your good. Every move He makes, every step He leads you in, every circumstance you face He has planned and mapped out a way through, and will always implement with loving accuracy and infinite care what is best for you if you will allow Him to.

Prayer: Lord thank you that you know and care about every detail of my life and hold me in the palm of your hand. I trust you to work in and through me today with your “precision pen”. In Jesus name Amen.
