7 April – Take Your Place

I realised this week while listening to someone speak at a meeting how important it is to be prepared to share your own testimony and experience because nobody else can or will quite the same as you.

It’s like when our large family gathers together, and each person takes their place at the table. Every family member has their own unique and particular way to contribute, jokes and stories they tell, the food each person brings or excels at cooking and how each person’s presence blesses in their own special way. However, when someone is missing, it isn’t quite the same and the dynamic changes.

Remove even one of the components of what makes our family – who we each are and what we carry, and there will be missing parts and an incomplete picture and revelation.

Even the more complex and even awkward pieces of who we are God can use to sharpen and perfect us as we gather. It’s like bringing all the puzzle pieces together and aligning each piece to create something amazing and unique. Every piece has its specific design, purpose, and role to play. This is especially true when God is at work, as even those things or individuals which would usually clash and not work well next to each other He can use and meld to cause something great and dynamic to occur.

Consequently, when we or others don’t see their significance and step away from being present and available, our experiences, the building of our characters and the wisdom and lessons we can learn from others will need to be found elsewhere or missed altogether.

Things flow and connect when we take our place and choose to speak, use our gifts and abilities, and determine to be present and available.

Today be encouraged to take your place and seek to align yourself with God’s unfolding plan and story. Don’t let there be a missing piece, an empty seat, and inevitably others not benefiting from what you bring to the table.

“For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” (Ephesians 2:10)

” As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.” (Proverbs 27:14)

Prayer: Lord, please help me value the experiences, wisdom, gifts, and revelation I carry and to share it more with others. Thank you for all that you have formed and created in me. In Jesus name Amen
