You might of heard that, “God loves and cares for us, and that not even the tinest sparrow is beyond his watchful eye and care.” Yet I wonder if we were truly honest if we believe that God always cares specifically for us.
Today I was reminded however of just how much God listens and watches over everything about our life, and especially over what is important and matters to our destiny and who we are becoming.
A few days ago I was painting and noticed I was running out of white paint which I use in most colour mixes and paint pours. I was just thinking and calculating quietly how much it would cost to get some more white paint and chatting to God about it all. I continued painting and didn’t really think much about it as I finished my piece of artwork and got on with the rest of my week. Every so often throughout the week I felt a little nudge that I should go and paint some more, but I got busy and it didn’t happen. Which is where some white paint stepped in.
I don’t really believe in coincidences, but I do recognize Jesus set-ups and today was one of those set-ups, as I received a message from someone I haven’t seen for a while who works in maintenance and often has paint left over from his work. He messaged saying he had paint and wanted to drop it over….. It just happenened to be several containers of only white paint!
God is interested in the little things of our life. They matter because we matter to Him. You might call it coincidence that white paint arrived in abundance today, but I choose to acknowledge it as provision and blessing. Plus it’s God’s way of giving me an extra nudge as the weekend arrives to stop being distracted from what He keeps calling me to do, and to go and paint. Why? Because painting makes me happy and God likes that.
Today don’t underestimate how important you actually are to God. He does see you, hears your heart and is interested in taking care of even the little things in your life. He wants to encourage you to follow your dreams and has 101 ways he will provide and bless your endeavors. If we’d only open our eyes and look for His hand and what he is up to, we would perhaps see that and be thankful and encouraged by Him more often.
Ask today for what you’d like, as well as what you need. God responds when we ask with an attitude of faith in His goodness, acknowledging that He is interested and cares about even the little things in our lives. And He sees everything, even “white paint”.
“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.” (Matthew 7:7)
“Why, even the hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not; you are of more value than many sparrows.” (Luke 12:7)
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.” (Philippians 4:6)
Prayer: Lord thankyou for everything you do and are to me, and that you care so much about me. Even the smallest things in my life are not insignificant to you, so thankyou for answering my requests and prayers today. In Jesus name Amen
