Regardless of personal circumstances, our access to resources, the financial climate or the state of the world, we are all more powerful than we think. Every one of us can create an amazing life that is full and overflowing. Jesus said we could have it, so, therefore, it must be possible.
Jesus said, “I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance [to the full, till it overflows].” (John 10:10 AMP)
Your decisions hold a huge key to your destiny, and one of those decisions is to:
Take 100% responsibility for your life – We all face challenges, admittedly some more than others, but that doesn’t mean we have to remain stuck and missing out on God’s best because of our circumstances or past.
Successful people take full responsibility for their life. They don’t waste time and energy on blaming and complaining. They evaluate their experiences and decide if they need to change them or not. They face the uncomfortable, take necessary steps to move forward and prayerfully choose to navigate and overcome both opportunities and challenges.
The thoughts you think, the images you visualise and the actions you take hugely factor into who you are and the future you have in front of you.
“If you don’t like what you are experiencing and producing as a result in your life, change your mental, visual, and behavioural responses to the events in your life. Nothing will change for the better until you do. – Jack Canfield
Jesus came to give us abundant overflowing life and he gives us a hint as to how to live that life in His Word. “Stop imitating the ideals and opinions of the culture around you, but be inwardly transformed by the Holy Spirit through a total reformation of how you think. This will empower you to discern God’s will as you live a beautiful life, satisfying and perfect in his eyes.” (Romans 12:2 TPT)
When we start to take personal responsibility for our life, it is a massive step on the road to the meaningful and blessed life Jesus came to give us.
1. Instead of blaming other people, think, visualise and act in line with God’s promises.
2. Don’t compare yourself with others, but use your time and energy to devote yourself to fulfil that which God has deposited in your heart.
3. See yourself fulfilling all that God has placed in your heart and respond and align your actions from the truth of what God says about your life rather than anything or anyone else.
Let today be the start of you taking responsibility for your life. Trust Jesus to work in and through everything as you do the best with what you have been given, and utilise the opportunities in front of you.
“Make a careful exploration of who you are and the work you have been given, and then sink yourself into that. Don’t be impressed with yourself. Don’t compare yourself with others. Each of you must take responsibility for doing the creative best you can with your own life. “ (Galatians 6:4-5 MSG)
“I am God, your God, who teaches you how to live right and well. I show you what to do, where to go.” (Isaiah 48:7 MSG)
Prayer: Lord, thank you that you have deposited great things within my life. Would you please help me take responsibility for those things I need to and to make the most of what you have given me. I trust you to lead and guide me today. In Jesus name Amen.
