9 June – I Don’t Know What To Do??

wisdom

King Solomon was known as one of the wisest men who ever lived, yet he wasn’t born full of wisdom. Faced with leading a nation after the death of his father King David, he turned to God for help and prayed. The interesting point to note is that He didn’t just pray for His needs to be met, or for everything to go well with His leadership or for riches, power and honour. Instead Solomon prayed and asked for wisdom. God heard his prayer and said, “Because you have asked this, and have not asked for yourself long life or riches or the life of your enemies, but have asked for yourself understanding to discern what is right, behold now I do according to your word” (1 Kings 3:11)

There is a natural inborn wisdom we learn from experiences, education and wise counsel. However there is also a wisdom that is neither natural nor inborn but is a supernatural gift of God, and when we make God part of our lives we have this wisdom available to us. To receive this  “supernatural wisdom,” we’re encouraged to seek and ask for it. For the wisdom from heaven is “first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere.” (James 3:17)

When we don’t know what to do; when we realise and acknowledge we need wisdom and answers beyond ourselves or even others advice, we can like King Solomon ask for God to give us wisdom. That prayer request takes humility and a recognition that we actually don’t know everything to navigate the real challenges we face both in our own lives and in the world in which we live.

Don’t know what to do? Ask God for wisdom and benefit from receiving “supernatural wisdom” to answer the challenges and questions your’e facing.  If we ask, God promises that He will give us wisdom, so take the time to pray just as Solomon did that you would have “a spirit of wisdom and revelation” and begin to know what to do today.

If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.” (James 1:5)

For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you. We continually ask God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives, so that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way (Colossians 1:9-10)

I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better.” (Ephesians 1:17)

Prayer: Lord I need supernatural wisdom from you today. Please grant me the knowledge and understanding I need, not just for my own life but also to make a difference in the world. In Jesus Name Amen.
