2 Oct - Don’t Let Life’s Waves Knock You Off Balance

Life has a way of rocking us. Sometimes it’s the stress of our own day, but often it can also be other people’s noise - their drama, emotions, or chaos spilling over into ours.

If you’ve ever been on a paddleboard, you know what it’s like. As long as you stay focused and steady, you glide forward. But the moment you start looking at someone else’s splash, or get distracted by the waves around you, you lose your balance and fall in.

That’s what happens when we let other people’s stuff knock us around. We wobble. We lose focus. Instead of moving in the direction God’s called us, we end up stuck, frustrated, soaked and even "messed" up a little by the things that were never ours to carry.

I think Jesus revealed a better way: keep your eyes fixed on Him. He is your balance point, your anchor, your rhythm. The waves will still come - life has it's "stuff" - but when your gaze is steady, and your vision and purpose clear, you won’t be shaken off. Life can still be peaceful and fruitful, even when the water around you is wild.

“You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in You, all whose thoughts are fixed on You.” (Isaiah 26:3 NLT)

“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” (Philippians 4:13 NKJV)

Action Step: When someone else’s chaos or negativity shows up today, pause. Take a breath. Whisper: "Jesus, please steady me." "I choose to keep my eyes fixed on you and who and what you have called me to be today."

💭 Think and Say “My balance comes from Jesus - it doesn’t depend on my circumstances or the waves around me."

📖 Verse“You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in You, all whose thoughts are fixed on You.” (Isaiah 26:3 NLT)

🙏 Prayer: Lord, please help me remain steady when life’s waves crash around me. Teach me not to be rocked by other people’s chaos, but to keep my eyes on You. Thank You that You are my strength, my peace, and my anchor. With You, I can stand firm and move forward. In Jesus' name Amen.
